Ch Le Gravillot - Lalande de Pomerol Chateau le Gravillot

|
Many of the Bordeaux 'satellite' appellations have emerged in recent years to compete with the big names of the Medoc, St. Emilion, and Pomerol. This lovely wine from Lalande-de-Pomerol is made by Vincent Brunot, who took over the Chateau in 1998. The vineyard is only 10 acres in size and is 100% Merlot. Grown on the clay/gravel of the area, the wine has exceptional tannin for this 'soft' varietal. The Brunot family are all enologists and have greatly improved the quality of this wine to a level that is world-class. This dry red wine is aged for 18 months in new French and American oak barriques. A luscious wine with plenty of oak. We had the 2000 vintage and it went flying out the door with many upset customers looking for more. Get an ample supply before it is all snatched up again! Elegant gift from France! GLP02
